Alesia Pinney
Executive Vice President, Legal Affairs and General Counsel
Alesia Pinney heads legal affairs, serving as General Counsel. She is a distinguished corporate attorney and business leader who has been instrumental in the launch, ongoing financing and operation of dynamic, fast-growth ventures.
Pinney has served a series of innovative companies, as Chief Operating Officer, Vice President of Legal and Human Affairs, General Counsel, Chief Privacy Officer and Corporate Secretary. She served most recently as COO and General Counsel for a startup in the consumer services industry.
Prior to that, she served drugstore.com for eight years, as Vice President, Legal and Human Affairs, General Counsel, Chief Privacy Officer and Secretary. From the time drugstore.com opened for business, she established systems and structure to ensure the company realized optimal benefit and value from its strategic partnerships and financings, legal affairs, human capital and intellectual property.
Her accomplishments there included managing public equity offerings and private financings, as well as negotiating and managing strategic partnerships with such key relationships as Amazon.com, Rite Aid, Wellpoint and Cigna.
Prior to that, Pinney served the law firm of Perkins Coie LLP as legal team leader for initial and secondary public offerings and venture capital financings. She was responsible for numerous mergers, acquisitions and other strategic transactions, including IPOs for Amazon.com and Cutter & Buck.
As senior corporate counsel for RealNetworks, Inc., she managed its $43 million IPO. Prior to that, she was a certified public accountant, serving corporations, partnerships and individuals.
Pinney received her juris doctor from University of Puget Sound School of Law, her master of taxation from the University of Denver, College of Law, and her B.A. in accounting from Seattle University.
